Real life always gets me. I’ve got a new apprenticeship (Edit: I confused internship with apprenticeship; I meant internship) at a little publishing house which is really nice. If I have enough motivation for my private projects, it would put the cherry on the cake. But some “personal difficulties” let the flow dry in the last couple of months. We all have crosses to bear.
But I know when I have enough breaks from the private projects, I have enough energy to continue the work on them until they are done. It will take longer though, but I rather prefer finishing them than burning out completely and never finish them. I completed most of my planned projects taking this route for over 10 years of making mods. Never change a running system… 😉
Update 2023:
The internship turned into a permanent employment in February 2020. I know it’s a bit too late to mention this… Well, exactly, better late than never. The remaining part of the text I wrote in 2018 didn’t lose its relevance.
The “personal difficulties” still occur from time to time which let the flow dry. It took me some years to call things as they are. Being close to burnout occasionally and living with ADHD for example belong to these “personal difficulties”.
